December of 2014 Judy and I taking the shortcut thru Florida... But for one little obstacle.  53 Ft mast and a 49 Ft bridge.

We got a great deal on a Dickinson Newport Diesel Heater and all kinds of accessories.  It arrived just before Christmas, and I spent most of my time off installing it into the boat.  Fired that sucker up and didn't it get toasty aboard that boat.... and I don't even have the insulation installed yet. BTW, the boat didn't blow over during the windstorm.  Having survived that, I will be less nervous about storms in the future. Happy New Year.

Happy Solstice. Just had a small fire in the firepit at sunset, a little shot of Sambuca, hummed The Body Electric under my breath, lit some expired boat flares with my grandson and came in for dinner. My wife and I ordered about two grand in boat stuff this week for our big refit project.  Materials to finish the cabin interior overhead and a furnace to heat the inside of the boat.  Friday is supposed to be very windy.  I worry about the boat falling over in the driveway.  The ground is firm, and the stands are new but the boat is high up on stacked blocks because of the keel project, and I don't want to lower it until that is done.  It won't be done until the weather warms up enough for epoxy to cure.  Happy New Year My two resolutions are: 1.  Get Everything Done! 2.  Blog more often.

It's good to be back!

Yay! I won back the domain name I created almost 2 decades ago, and then let go when my Mom got sick.  Since it got away from me, it has been used as a gambling website and a home goods sales website. But soon to be back to what it was originally created for.... A boating blog.
